# how a record is made.

> how warden turns a governance action into a record: sources, matching against your positions, simulation not prediction, and what happens when data is missing.

## sources

warden watches governance where it actually happens — snapshot votes, on-chain governors, executive spells, network amendments — across the lending, staking, and trading protocols warden covers. every record links its sources; the record is checkable or it does not ship.

## matching

your address is read from public rpc: what you supply, stake, borrow, and hold. each rule change is laid against those positions. if a change does not touch anything you hold, you never hear about it.

## simulation, not prediction

the effect shown on a record is a simulation of the rule as written — this threshold moves, these rewards end — not a forecast of prices or behavior. you draw the conclusions; warden brings the record.

## when data is missing

a protocol that cannot be read is reported as unknown, never as "nothing". partial answers say so on the record.

## the records on the front page

those are real governance actions, not illustrations — each links its own sources, and the status line says exactly where it stands: proposed, passed, or executed. the "if you held" row is a condition, not a claim about your wallet; only a scan tells you which records are yours. a number that is not checkable at a source gets labeled or dropped — that constraint is the brand.
